A walk down Memory Lane

As part of Steps for Life each year, Memory Lane is a chance for families to honour their loved ones or their own experience with workplace tragedy. It’s also a reminder for all of us of the real faces and stories behind the statistics.

Each in-the-park Steps for Life walk will include a Memory Lane with signs which briefly tell the stories of workers affected by work-related fatality, life-altering injury or occupational disease.

How can I order a sign for my loved one?

Threads of Life is happy to create new signs for families who have experienced a tragedy and will be participating in Steps for Life. Because details and photos included on the signs are considered personal information, Threads of Life must work directly with the family member or next of kin to prepare and approve the content for the signs, rather than with a workplace or community.

If you will be participating in Steps for Life and would like to request a Memory Lane sign for yourself or your family member, please contact us at steps@threadsoflife.ca before February 12, 2024. Threads of Life staff will work with you to confirm the wording and image to appear on the sign. We will ship the sign to the community where you plan to walk – Memory Lane signs are kept by the Steps for Life community planning committee for use each year.
