Welcome to Dennis Christie's Personal Page - TEAM ELLISDON
April 28th is the National Day of Mourning for workers who have been killed or suffer work related injury or disease. On this day I will be thinking of my uncle Mike.
On March 18, 1998 Michael Jess at the age of 40, working as a mechanical millwright at Dominion Castings in Hamilton Ontario Canada was fatally injured when a shot blast machine he was working on reactivated and pulled him in.
He left behind his Wife and 5 boys. His death was one of the contributing factors to my decision to pursue a career in Occupational Health and Safety. I give my regrets to everyone who has lost someone due to a work related injury or disease.
This spring, I have an amazing opportunity to walk in Steps for Life - Walking for Families of Workplace Tragedy and raise money for Threads of Life.
Along with thousands of participants across Canada, I will be fundraising to provide programs and services for families who have suffered as a result of a workplace tragedy; raising awareness in our community about the devastating ripple effects of each workplace tragedy; and promoting a cultural shift to improve health and safety in the workplace so that others will not experience a workplace fatality, traumatic life-altering injury, or occupational disease.
There are a thousand ways you to make a difference too - walk with me by joining my team or click the button to make a donation.
I greatly appreciate your support and thank you for stepping up for workplace safety!
