Welcome to My Personal Page
At 4am on Saturday August 25th I received a phone call that forever changed my life, my dad was never coming home again and my daughter would never remember her Papa.
My dad should have come home, we should have celebrated my daughter's first birthday on that Sunday instead of making funeral arrangements.
Nothing I can say or do will bring him home again but this year and every year after Zoë and I will be walking in memory of my dad and all the other workers and families who have had workplace tragedy enter their lives.
Each year, 1,000 workers will be fatally injured or die from a workplace injury or occupational disease. If today is an average working day in Canada, then three people will die on the job. That’s a staggering statistic.
This spring, I will be walking in Steps for Life - Walking for Families of Workplace Tragedy to raise money for Threads of Life, an organization providing family support services for those most deeply affected by a workplace fatality, life-altering injury, or occupational disease. I am raising money because I want to help provide support services for families affected by a workplace tragedy.
Please take a moment to visit my personal fundraising web page and make a donation today – it’s easy, fast and safe. Plus you'll be making a big difference for a great cause that I support!
Your donation will help Threads of Life to help families heal through a community of support and to promote the elimination of life-altering workplace injuries, illnesses and deaths. You can learn more about the great work that Threads of Life does at threadsoflife.ca.
Whatever you can give will help - it all adds up! I will keep you posted on my progress. Thanks in advance for your generous support!
This spring, I have an amazing opportunity to walk in Steps for Life - Walking for Families of Workplace Tragedy and raise money for Threads of Life.
Along with thousands of participants across Canada, I will be fundraising to provide programs and services for families who have suffered as a result of a workplace tragedy; raising awareness in our community about the devastating ripple effects of each workplace tragedy; and promoting a cultural shift to improve health and safety in the workplace so that others will not experience a workplace fatality, traumatic life-altering injury, or occupational disease.
There are a thousand ways you to make a difference too - walk with me by joining my team or click the button to make a donation.
I greatly appreciate your support and thank you for stepping up for workplace safety!
