Steps for Bot Gutierrez
To all my family, friends, and colleauges,
My family and I wlll be participating again in this year's "Steps for Life - Walking for Families of Workplace Tragedy" fundraiser walk - set to take place in London on April 25, 2020 in memory of my father, Eulogio "Bot" Gutierrez, who was tragically taken from us on November 27, 2017 due to an industrial mining accident of which involved him being struck by mobile equipment underground.
Everyday, 3 Canadian workers will die on the job due to a preventable workplace accident.
Every worker has the right to go home to their loved ones safe everyday.
Life has not been the same for me and my family ever since the loss of my father. Sadly, I am not the only person that has suffered such a loss.
With your help, you can help me fundraise to provide programs and services for Canadian families who have suffered as a result of a workplace tragedy; raising awareness in our community about the devastating ripple effects of each workplace tragedy; and promoting a cultural shift to improve health and safety in the workplace so that others will not experience a workplace fatality, traumatic life-altering injury, or occupational disease.
Through Threads of Life, I personally have been receiving support in dealing with the difficult emotional journey of grief by being connected with others who have experienced what I am going through; by speaking and sharing stories with wonderful volunteers who have demonstrated such care, patience, and compassion towards me. These services have been a key component in my efforts to cope and move forward in life, while remembering Dad.
For those who know me and my family - for those who knew my father - you can either walk with me by joining my team or click the button to make a donation. Your donation will go towards efforts to ensure that our loved ones always come back home safe.
On behalf of Bot and the Gutierrez Family, we greatly appreciate your support and donations.
